Trusting ourselves and the Divine Feminine flow

July 24, 2025

Do you know how often I feel dumb trying to follow my energy and desires?

Especially when I’ve been told all my life that my body and brain are liars?

That I can’t trust my natural productivity.

That I can’t trust the flow of my energy.

That my body is to be beaten into submission.

That my brain will wander without restriction.

Somewhere along the way, we were convinced to stop trusting ourselves.

We’ve been sold that we are predisposed to idleness, and so we must overwork.

We’ve been told that if we don’t go harder and push farther, we’ll fall back.

We’ve been taught that we are so untrustworthy that we need to be controlled, even if it’s by our own willpower, even if it’s by someone else.

When we believe these things, we lose trust in our biological and spiritual processes.

And when we don’t trust ourselves?

We avoid our feelings and numb at a faster pace.

We grow addicted to affirmation when contentment could be pursued in it’s place.

We resent our desires and reject anything that feels like grace.

But friends, just because we’ve been taught that we can’t trust ourselves, I’m not sure that was ever true.

Because when you strip away the toxic capitalistic and consumerist conditioning, you find that you need much less than you thought you did.

Your “innate laziness” is more tolerable when you have less to push and force.

Less money, less approval, less more.

And the only breaking news you need to read today?

Our bodies, our hearts, and our energies can be trusted.

This is one of the treasures of the feminine metaphor for God.

We can trust ourselves, we can trust Her.

She is immanence and intuition, she is flow and rest.

A Mother God does not deny the body, She is the Divine Feminine flow that moves through us.

She meets us where we are.

She opens her arms.

She tells us that the work is done, and it’s good enough.

We are all temples of the Holiest Spirit, one that will guide us if we quiet down and listen close.

We all have an intuition that is divinely inspired, breathed through us by God herself.

We are bodies threaded through with souls, mirror images of the Divine.

We will know Her when we see Her.

She doesn’t move with force but flow.

She doesn’t push, She invites.

She draws us in with beauty and rest, freedom and creativity.

She doesn’t guilt or shame us, She doesn’t ask us to keep pushing when our souls have said enough.

She supports our effort and our ease with equal priority.

And when God is active in our lives, we will see the fruit of their Spirit embodied.

Joy, not weariness.
Gentleness, not force.
Self-control, not self-negation.

Yes, we need to revive the Divine Feminine metaphor, but we need to continue to honor the Divine Masculine metaphor too. The difference is that we know him well already.

He is God the Father.

He is found in the structure, discipline, and production of our days.

He isn’t wrong or bad, He’s simply been upheld with imbalance for centuries. The patriarchal influences that taught us how to prioritize masculine values over the feminine have taken a toll on human consciousness.

But the stronghold of patriarchy in western spirituality is loosening.

And when we balance the masculine metaphor for God with the feminine, we can find the Divine in the earth, in our bodies, and in the material again.

Beautiful soul, this is your invitation.

To trust yourself and the the flow of the Divine Feminine within you, moment to moment.

Some days, you’ll produce and engage, and on others, you’ll need something different. Maybe you need to rest and retreat instead.

This is even truer for women. During our childbearing years, we experience the world on a cycle that can be trusted to keep us rested, healthy, and productive.

You can trust your energy and desires.

You can trust your body to know when it needs to work and to rest.

You can trust what the universe has for you each day.

Seek a slow, soft pace in your days that allows for listening, intuition, and deep attunement.

This practice will help you tune into the Divine Feminine flow, and you’ll see the difference between what you need and what you’ve been sold to need within our capitalistic, consumerist value system.

And remember, hustle culture will ridicule you in this endeavor. The patriarchal push for bigger, better, and more won’t let you off the hook easily.

But when we finally see that there is less to push for and pursue, the pressure eases.

We are human beings, not human doings, and we actually don’t need much.

We need good health, good people, and good food. We need enough to live.

When we let ourselves off the hook, when we stop pushing, controlling, and forcing, we’ll be able to trust ourselves and the flow again.

When you wake up tomorrow…

Greet Her and check in with yourself for the day. Their mercy is new every morning. Ask yourself:

What do I need?
What do I want?
And in what direction is my internal compass pointing me today?

If you listen closely, She’ll tell you.

Repeat this line of questioning often throughout the day, and you’ll notice that your behavior will shift in favor of your soul.

Slow, soft, soulful living is on the other side of tuning into yourself and the Divine Feminine flow.

Trust me.
